Depart the city of Cape Town and make your way inland to the Sutherland. We recommend you take the scenic drive through the town of Ceres and onto the R46 and R356. This back road route may take longer to travel but the scenery of the nearby Tankwa Karoo is breathtaking.

You can take your time exploring the 23 km pass with numerous viewpoints along the way. Your Suzuki Jimny will be at home on the sandy roads and rugged terrain, allowing you to explore the pass at your own pace.

Once through the pass, it is a short drive down to the town of Oudtshoorn and your accommodation at AfriCamps Klein Karoo.

With the Jimny as your adventure vehicle, we offer you a unique route away from the popular N2 highway, allowing you to explore the lesser-known roads of the Garden Route. An early departure from Knysna will allow you to enjoy sections of the Seven Passes Route between Knysna and George.

Further down the N2, we once again take you off the main road and onto the dirt track to Malgas, where you will cross the Breede River by a local pont before continuing on to the De Hoop Nature Reserve – a sanctuary of pristine wilderness and coastal beauty.
